Jacco Brouwer is a highly experienced debt markets and debt advisory professional. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the banking and advisory markets, in particular expertise advising private equity and corporate clients on debt raisings and refinancings across the UK and mainland Europe. He is a financing specialist delivering leveraged buy-out loans, growth and acquisition finance and asset-based finance facilities for clients. Jacco’s experience also extends to syndicated loans, high yield bonds, covenant resets and debt amendments and restructurings.
Jacco Brouwer’s extensive experience enables him to advise clients in identifying competitive funding sources tailored to the profile and strategy of any prospective borrower. He personally leads the debt structuring and negotiation process to secure successful outcomes for his clients.
Prior to joining MDW Capital, Jacco Brouwer was Managing Director and leader of the European Debt Advisory practice at Kroll (formerly known as Duff & Phelps) in their London office.
Jacco Brouwer started his career in banking, joining ABN AMRO bank as a graduate trainee in its investment banking decision. He subsequently transferred to London where he established and led the bank’s Infrastructure Finance team before becoming the Head of the European Leverage Finance team, with a focus on arranging and underwriting senior, mezzanine and high yield financings for leveraged buyouts and corporate borrowers across Europe. In 2009, he was one of the co-founding partners at Versatus Advisers, a London based debt advisory boutique. Following that firm’s sale to Oriel Securities, he continued as a Debt Advisory partner in the enlarged firm. Jacco Brouwer then joined Zolfo Cooper Europe (later AlixPartners) where he set up and led their new debt advisory practice.
Jacco Brouwer received a master’s degree (cum laude) in business economics from Groningen university. He is a native Dutch speaker, and a fluent English speaker having worked and lived in the UK for more than 25 years. In his spare time away from work, Jacco divides his time between London and the Isle of Wight. He is the Treasurer and trustee of Friends of Brook Green, a community-based charity in Hammersmith. When he is not working on debt transactions or charity work, Jacco likes to spend time on a golf course, tennis court, sailing boat or playing cards. He also has a similarly strong passion for travel, food, wine, watching football and music.
